Premier League clubs have “improved” their last year spending record by £200m in the summer window on new signings.

Manchester United is

the “champion” in this categore with more than £150m spent, which is record for an English club. That is pretty impresive acheavment having in mind that Manchester City and Chelsea, the heavy spenders, are in the bucket.

As the most popular football league in the world, this kind of money power is espected, especialy after the huge domestic TV deal. All clubs in the Premier League recieved £25m more than they did in 2012-13, which is the main reason for this record spending.

After some basic calculations, it was clear that the total sum of spendings is almost double the sum spent by clubs in La Liga this summer, and let’s not forget that Real Madrid and Barcelona are copeting in La Liga.

The total only includes £6m from the loan fee of Radamel Falcao to United from Monaco, however - if he moves on a permanent basis at the end of the season that fee will be part of the next transfer window.

Other top divisions in Europe:

La Liga  -  £425m
Serie A  -  £260m
Bundesliga - £250m
Ligue 1  -  £100m
