PREVIEW: Sunderland vs. Arsenal

Awful period for both Sunderland and Arsenal, one of them with huge 8:0 loss against Southampton and other with big list of injured players. This will be a game where each team will seek to find the oppositions weakness and try to capitalize 3 points from this game. Both sides will be very happy to win 3 points in this situation.

Gustavo Poyet must make some changes, just to make psychological impact on the atmosphere in the dressing room. Jack Rodwell is one of the candidates to start the game, and that will be great opportunity to show some skills.

Poyet has the responsibility to motivate this young lad, because this is opportunity for him to rise when everybody’s confidence is shaken.
On the other side, Wenger is confident after making the key substitution in the Champions League game, bringing Lukas Podolski who secured late victory with 91’-th minute goal. Still, I don’t think he will include Podolski in the starting lineup.

Jack Wilshere is suspended, so maybe his spot will make the difference on the pitch. Arteta might be able to play 60-70 minutes and then replace him with Rosicky. In the defence, all four from the previous game are almost certain that they will start the game. Debuchy and Koscielny are still unavailable due to injuries.

Analysing both sides, we can see that Sunderland is facing bigger challenge than Wenger’s side. They are missing some key players, the same problem that Arsenal has, but they don’t have the same quality players on the bench as Arsenal has.

That might not be big deal, but when you consider the 8:0 loss, it is clear that Arsenal has huge advantage in this match. Wenger should be able to motivate the squad and try to crush Poyet even more.
