As you might already know, Community shield is a match before the beginning of the Premier League that involves
the title winner and the Cup winner from the last season.
We have somehow got used to watch the Citizens as curtain-raisers for the new season, but Arsenal is not the case for a long 9 years. Both great teams, but arguably Arsenal a bit weakened with the departure of Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona. But that doesn’t have to mean anything just as long as the team connects well with the midfielders.
But if you take a look at the striking power in both clubs, you will easily notice that it is going to be a goal festival today, but that will be the case if Kompany hasn’t any objection to that statement, if you know what I mean. You might also miss some of the World Cup winners Mesut Ozil, Podolski and Mertesacker as it is reported that they will not feature the first team.
You have to mention the new signings on both sides. Just imagine Frank Lampard playing a match for team other than Chelsea after 13 years. Or picture the amazing chilean striker Alexis Sanchez up front with Giroud, and Debuchy taking care of them. It is going to be a fabulous match to watch, and even better to analyze afterwards.
